  • Lincoln Infant Lab Package 1.0
Together with Alan Woodford we have developed a comprehensive, purpose-built software package that enables us to run Intermodal Preferential Looking (IPL), Habituation and Preferential Listening and combine methods most flexibly and test participants and analyse their data with greatest efficiency and reliability (Meints & Woodford, 2008) .We have found a much improved, faster solution to test with IPL on Windows XP and 7 and, for the first time, we can combine IPL and habituation in a single experimental set-up which has attracted the interest of colleagues world-wide. These new programmes are currently available as shareware to researchers world-wide and to health care professionals (see Lincoln Infant Lab Package 1.0). So far, 36 Infant Labs world-wide, with colleagues within the UK, but also abroad in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Mexico, USA and Japan are using our software – commercialization is currently being explored.

Blue Dog test DVD and booklet with two modules: Test Yourself; Blue Dog Story module.
The Blue Dog programme consitsts of a DVD and a parent booklet. It is administered by the Blue Dog Trust which is a registered non-profit organisation. The Blue Dog has been endorsed by recognised experts in the field of dog behaviour throughout Europe and the USA. The efficacy of the programme as a teaching tool was assessed by us here at the Lincoln Infant Lab by testing a selection of the Blue Dog scenes with children of 3-6 years. The results showed that children are able to learn successfully about safe behaviour with dogs after using the Blue Dog DVD.  Further research is ongoing.
